What OLIVIA's staff got up to at home – Part 1
August has been a confusing time for us all. One moment we were out and about, then the next moment we were back into level 3. Our lives changed overnight as most of us were unable to return back to our daily routines. Social distancing measures meant that we had to stay at home for another 2 weeks. Being stuck at home can really take a toll on our mental health which is why we need to take care of ourselves more than ever. Don't feel pressured to do something extremely productive because our main priority should be taking care of ourselves. Use this time to relax and focus on doing things that make you happy.
Are you feeling bored at home? We want to give you some ideas on how to keep yourself busy. Here is what the staff at Olivia got up to at home during level 3.

Tower - Newmarket sales team
I was getting sick of my clothes so I wanted to try something different. I experimented with natural dye to give my clothes a new life. Using the pit and skin of an avocado, I dyed my old clothes to a soft beige and mauve colour. Overall, I am really happy with how this turned out!

Yezi - Albany sales team
I finished this Lego about the Mickey series and it's super cute! The retro Mickey and boat really takes you back in time. Making legos can take quite a bit of time but it is so worth it in the end. I'm so happy with how this turned out! If you want to pass time and get creative, I highly recommend playing with lego.

While being stuck at home, it can be really difficult to stay fit and active. If you have a pet, I highly recommend taking it for walks everyday. Not only do you get to spend quality time with your pet, you can also get your daily exercise in. Luckily the weather was lovely during level 3 so I took my dog for walks in our local park and beach– while wearing a mask, of course.

MOAH - Graphic Designer
I really enjoy baking so I was able to do a lot of baking during level 3. One of my favourite things to bake is a carrot cake. I got this beautiful recipe from my friend in Romania. This carrot cake is so moist and fresh– a can of pineapple and oil instead of heavy butter. It's a pretty simple recipe that you can make at home. I'll share the recipe with Olivia friends soon!

Yubin - Web Designer & Developer
I recently invested in an iPad so I have been playing around with my new device during level 3 lockdown. One of the activities I've been trying on my iPad is digital drawing. It was difficult at first as I wasn't familiar with drawing digitally but I slowly started to get the hang of it. I really enjoy digital drawing as it gives me a lot of freedom to experiment with different colours and drawing techniques. I'm hoping to get better at it by practising more. These are some of the creations I made during level 3.
